A Decision Six Years in the Making

Six years ago, I started speaking my recovery journey into the voice memo app on my phone. I had no idea what would become of what I called the Recover Your Soul Podcast. But as soon as it took off and people started listening, I knew it was more than downloads. It was becoming a community, a family of people affected by addiction, battling their own codependency and tendency to people please and over-give, just like me, who wanted more than what they were finding in other recovery circles.
From that moment, I took every listen into my heart. I committed to my own soul journey and to sharing the profound changes happening in my life with anyone who was ready for healing and freedom too.
In those early years I became an ordained metaphysical minister and started coaching people looking for support and a new way to be in their complex lives. Out of that work, the 9-Step Recover Your Soul Process was born, and it kept deepening as it transformed my life and the lives of the people listening. Each week I shared what was happening in my healing, and the community grew. As I worked toward doing this full time, I created the Bonus Podcast, a way to go deeper with the community and to build something sustainable.
Years later, we have a thriving community across both podcasts. And I've stayed committed to speaking honestly about what's changed, grown, and released in me along the way. The podcast has changed because I have changed. I'm not in the pain and chaos that was once my daily life, though I remember it well, and I feel for those of you who are there right now. My older episodes speak more to Al-Anon, my own recovery from alcoholism, and the many hard, sticky seasons while my boys were dealing with their own addiction and making the move to live on their own in California.
I've stumbled my way through figuring out how to share this process, coaching hundreds of people, some for a single session, some through the whole journey, and I've watched people make courageous, profound changes. Letting go of control. Healing old stories written by wounds and childhood. Choosing themselves. I think of this work now like a kind of station, where souls come to heal. Some pass through for a moment, others stay a long while as they remember their wholeness. I don't have all the answers, or the only way. But I've been through what most of you have too, and that's how we know each other.
Here's what's changing starting in July.
Between two podcast episodes a week, coaching, group coaching, and everything else this has grown into, I've realized I can't keep doing it all, not well, not sustainably. I love podcasting. I love this community. But there's now a full library of episodes covering so many facets of this healing journey, and I need to listen to what I teach.
Step 7 of the Recover Your Soul Process says: Align with a new perception. Shift your perception to a healthier one of yourself and the world around you. Choose your reality by consciously aligning thought, word, and action with your awakened perception and Higher Self.
So I'm doing that. I'm moving both podcasts to every other week, which still means a new episode every week between the two shows. I'm also shifting the Bonus Podcast to a Monday drop, so it's easier to keep track of.
Here's where to find everything:
Main podcast: every other week, on all streaming platforms and the website
Bonus Podcast: every other week, Mondays, on Apple Podcasts ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) or Patreon (Free, $5, $10, $25 tiers)
Free members get access to new Bonus episodes for the first few weeks, and these subscriptions are part of what sustains this community
This gives me more room to be present with you through the Zoom groups, workshops, one on one coaching, group coaching, retreats, the Facebook community, and what's ahead, including a new book.
And if you're worried about running out of things to listen to, you won't. There's a full library of nearly 600 episodes already here. Use the search bar, on the website or on the podcast platforms, and type in exactly what you're going through. It will lead you to episodes that speak directly to it. (I am working on a widget for the website to help even more with this.)
Together, we can do the work that will Recover Your Soul. 🧡
